ITPmetrics Privacy Policy

ITPmetrics is a free online teamwork and behavioral assessment platform, backed by research, for building self-awareness, teamwork capacity, and overall effectiveness. Any registered user can create assessments and participate in assessments. Anyone can register and no permissions are required.

This Privacy Policy describes how and when ITPmetrics collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you use our online platform. ITPmetrics receives your personal information from your own profile you create and through assessment creators (specifically, your email address, first name, and last name as provided to us). When using any of our Services you consent to the collection, storage, and other uses of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. Data may be used for research to improve the system and make scientific advancements, but your personal information or responses will never be shared outside the research team. Irrespective of which country you reside in or supply information from, you authorize ITPmetrics to use and disclose your personal information in Canada and any other country where ITPmetrics operates in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We wrote this policy to help you understand what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have regarding your information. If you have any questions or comments about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at [email protected] or Dr. Tom O’Neill at [email protected].

In this Privacy Policy, the term “personal information” or “information” refers to any information that identifies you, or by which your identity could be deduced and includes your name, email address, and your responses to all assessments.

Information Collected Upon Registration: When you create a new account on ITPmetrics, we will collect your name, email address, and organization name.

Information Collected During Assessments: When you participate in any assessments, we will collect your responses to all assessment prompts.

Device Information: We may collect information about the device you're using ITPmetrics on, including what type of device it is, what operating system you're using, device settings, unique device identifiers, and crash data. Whether we collect some or all of this information often depends on what type of device you're using and its settings. For example, different types of information are available depending on whether you're using a Mac or a PC, or an iPhone or an Android phone. To learn more about what information your device makes available to us, please check the policies of your device manufacturer or software provider.

Cookies: Like many websites, we use "cookie" technology to collect additional website usage data and to improve our Services, but we do not require cookies for many parts of our Services such as searching and looking at public user profiles or lists. A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your computer's hard disk. ITPmetrics may use both session cookies and persistent cookies to better understand how you interact with our Services, to monitor aggregate usage by our users and web traffic routing on our Services, and to customize and improve our Services. Most Internet browsers automatically accept cookies. You can instruct your browser, by changing its settings, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit. However, some Services may not function properly if you disable cookies.

Log Data: Our servers automatically record information ("Log Data") created by your use of the Services. Log Data may include information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, the referring web page, pages visited, location, your mobile carrier, device and application IDs, search terms, and cookie information. We receive Log Data when you interact with our Services, for example, when you visit our websites, sign into our Services, or interact with our email notifications. ITPmetrics uses Log Data to provide our Services and to measure, customize, and improve them.

Information Collected Upon Registration and Information Collected During Assessments could be used for research purposes. Prior to any analyses for research, the data will be made anonymous by deleting all of your personal information. No identifying information or unique responses will ever be shared with anyone outside the research team and all results will be reported in aggregates (summaries of large groups of people, such as averages, variances, and correlations). Email addresses are collected for the purposes of sending you the survey link and making your own report(s) available. Participant gender and date of birth are collected to better understand our user base. If you prefer not to share your gender and/or date of birth, you will still be able to access all functions of ITPmetrics.

However, nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit any legal defenses or objections that you may have to a third party’s, including a government’s, request to disclose your information.

Information Security: We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us against unauthorized access or disclosure.
